Discussion:
will FTBFS on s390x prevent release in stable?

Hello mentors,

mplayer 2:1.5+svn38638-1 was uploaded on experimental with fixes for
gcc-14; however it still fails on s390x[1]: it is my understanding that
the build need to be fixed there in order to release mplayer in trixie.
Is that correct?
There are also regressions on 5 other non-release archs, fixes for
those, if not available ustream, can be delayed longer?

Thanks,
Lorenzo

mplayer is not in testing so it can migrate even without the s390x binary
as far as I know.

You can safely ignore those.

humm, fine for me although I'm not sure I completely understand the
logic (mplayer:s390x is in stable and unstable right now, so
removal from testing as a bonus clears out all archs regressions?)

Anyway thanks for the info Andrey.

Sure.
The status in stable is never considered for stuff in testing or
unstable. Though I'm not sure if the outdated sid s390x binary will be
ignored or will need to be decrufted before the migration.
